There was a Men from Maine in which Doc Cider dropped by for an instructional conversation on the ways of nature. Another addressed vasectomies and their increase during the recession. Finally, Letterman's comments about Sarah Palin were addressed and inspired Tom to promise an apology for his remarks to the guy at the dump. Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday. |

" And if you're HTTP questions okay. He's also recover. Father's Day gift gadgets coming up there and you'll be year round some 30 this morning okay. You know it's it's it's it is because Jim did you hear what two times a year -- and you've. You've figured well how much technology -- different things and invent over six months amazing stuff but he's always got new stuff no sooner does. You know I heard no one of the TV stations talking last night about even though you've got the digital TV interview or you got to converter box. People are still having some issues in the simplest issue was. There's on your menu button on your remote isn't that in this thing called auto channel don't know if you hit that. That's apparently what screwed up some people so mark if you hit that it'll go back and it's like re setting your TV. And then it'll go through the -- It'll scan system -- and -- it works for him so you can try that a chairman improbable thank you very much gadget though everything they know probably he's Newman were very excited."
" I'm very great gadget guy has joined in the Ohio's morning. So nervous at first I just the first full week after earlier switch over there is indeed good morning guys. We know so yes I'm not the good news is that the world demand. June 12 when we ended analog broadcasts of all the."
" Major TV stations in the country is -- 151600. Of them ended there. Analog broadcasts which have been doing for sixty some years no -- depending on how long they've been in business which means they were sending out. The pictures and sound using magnetic waves that we've been using the radio for ninety years and and may switch so now they're sending out pictures and sound as ones and -- and technology possibly some people don't realize that the change has come to radio as well. No choice voted HD radio also resource -- channels so more programs in the same. -- governments made an announcement about this."
" By now you've heard about the long awaited switch to digital television signals. You may not filled is that in early 2005. Congress in association with the Federal Communications Commission mandated that on the same day that television stations changed their signals from analog to digital radio stations across the country would have to do the same with your audio signals the thanked the jury hearing this message now is due to a last minute agreement between this radio station in the FCC to extend by two weeks the federal deadline for a change to digital radio people across the country now have converter boxes attached to their analog televisions and now you'll need a radio converter boxes well. Don't worry you don't need one for every radio you own or use. Just one simple portable device can ensure you get the radio you enjoy it after the transition to digital simply call this radio station now. And for either a one time payment of 14990. Time or monthly payments of just 25 dollars or we'll have a converter box -- two years. Overnight shipping at no extra charge. This portable converter comes with complete instructions and slips easily into a pocket or purse enabling you to take -- you wherever you listened to radio. Call this station now with the card number get your converter box to. And he's ready for digital radio tomorrow."
" Okay the numbers 617931. Little fires seven and while he'll be taking your credit card numbers -- Williams is right out of Santa Lauren Marquez right over the one of those who follows us cash. I guess that's actually good fun stuck by the studio. Will be in the parking lot after the show collecting cash in abolish the goggles Sunni unit converter box and -- the okay. Did we do have some emails about people who still can't get reception when their TVs were going to get to those in just a memo today you. --"
" Is -- one common. -- you give people maybe having a problem well is that him from a because usually there's two things one has been in the biggest problem was getting that converter box hooked up itself it's relatively easy but once they're hooked up. The other big thing was reception there right now because the digital signals -- they're different they're designed to reach the same broadcast area. But they. They don't fade out the way analog signals through and you get a lot of ghosts and snow they just pull off the cliff and then you don't get anything they get these little excels those little. I am kind of thing yeah. And mosaics that you get on the -- lose people without cable you're talking about this is only people without cable here we'll get their TV off the air run with an antenna on the roof so what you might have to do. Put one other thing is. This on this changeover day last Friday and Saturday. The stations in some way and people weren't confused enough they've switched spots on the airwaves so you have to -- scans or even if you had one of these converter boxes for more five months. You -- again I don't find them the good news is they find the channels you're remote you go to the setup you have Edmondson scan or auto scan on any digital TV and goes and finds -- channels and only a floor so you can go and you'll find the channel so doesn't then the big thing what happened also is some people. Who are using their 88 magnum -- they're happy -- that ninety downtrend neutron they're also using a very old antenna so you may find that you need a new antenna also. And that's the other thing the place to go for that is antenna web dot org antenna web dot ORG. This is the place where you put in not only use a company in your street address and we'll tell you what kind of antenna you need it may tell you know that getting those little rabbit ears aren't good enough you need to put something on the roof around so but antenna web dot ORG is the place to go to find what kind of antenna. You -- while that's true -- zeroed right down your street right dentistry because you know these signals they're really especially the digital signals as they -- different from the analog signal and they might not reach the same place in their own little more directional than the other ones is kind of just -- that promised -- that you if you do have stupid revenues you can only if you got the aluminum --"
" More of your -- is like military."
" Legendary gadget guy who's with us here in the studio was -- though we've agreement government really be. TV -- and one other thing Jim great do you do not necessarily have divided especially."
" Chance of Intel right. No not at all. And and again you if you go to antenna where a first look -- have an antenna try that one out that's ago diamonds don't be glad for a year not to wait until June 12 two first it was supposed to be February 17. Not to try and out because you may finally -- because the signals in different -- and they may not reach the same area to try that announcing the name is personal trial you'll antenna in the works if I'm -- I'm not if it doesn't then you go antenna -- and I'll tell you which ones don't it's going to the store."
" I have AD HDTV so I'm -- your company and our military is what goes to realize this Sunday is Father's Day -- if your life just how many people use and what in the heck they'll -- get from my dad. I mean he's got everything what could you possibly want what does he need."
" Okay we're lucky what goes Jim -- the gadget guys. This morning okay NN -- like gadgets is news right Jim we do indeed about a new net."
" Book computer and notebook I. Portable computers behind various computer lot of people buying them to replace a desktop yeah. The way we use them now a nice day you want to sit down on the portrayal in the backyard and in wireless connection so you can still stay connected via netbooks are the ones this one from Sony. Weighs a pound and a half an eight inch screen on and it's about -- little smaller than a license plate again. Like they did is they took a laptop and kind of you have to ask him so that's similar -- full size keyboard and it has I'm Bluetooth Wi-Fi wireless connections while I'm webcam. Built in does just about anything that a computer and the computer would do when they may compromise on is there's no dvd drive. But other than that he's got everything you need plenty of power plenty of memory. And this one's about 900 dollars this is a Sony but I know me now but this is the high end of these netbook computers they saw it as little as 200. Is that is why all jell O -- and went with -- that you mentioned sitting on -- right a lot of times you don't see the scream I know -- the screens are getting better and better that's the other -- the types of LCD liquid crystal -- that are using on -- and then the next generation some of these posts are using -- organic light -- dialogue which is even. A better. Resolution and better in bright sun and also it's much more energy efficient solutions want. This is actually brighter literally and and -- Well -- bill does not LED that's the other things happen in big screen -- they're using -- LED right now -- as the backlight for LCD -- and confused -- and televisions but -- that that gives -- is thinner. Flat screen Soliai saw ever -- into to have tickets reveals treaty -- I don't exactly so they're getting thinner as well but netbooks and hot area notebooks notebooks on a hot area -- Home compare it almost looks like the super sized Hershey bar."
" You -- yeah exactly and a final okay what can forward to the LED LCD with the SE BD. I don't know what's the FBD part okay. I've got no -- today and O'Connor watching the shows him."
" And Alex Jonas -- Gadget guy's gym there is what is going Father's Day is this a very good so what's next on your list is a must have -- dear old I don't -- one of the hottest thing."

Self 450 dollars or so. 350 I'm sorry and the neat thing about the new Kindle is that you can download books wirelessly so you've -- want to read a book. -- doesn't you Wi-Fi uses I'm one of the radio networks. Okay I don't should do they do limitless OK I want to read the new and Stephen King book ranked so I don't go to borders -- Barnes & -- right idea download downloaded from Amazon you know way to -- it wirelessly. To the right is this is -- this is not a book on tape briefing I don't know this is the actual Texas this is the text okay. Always uses same amount of by the book though they usually cost a little less most books -- 999. Solid brand new books movies like thirteen 991499. There are thousands of books that -- to name. Drugstore CDS are you right. You can go ahead and make the -- best sellers get on the easily is that like automatic now won -- best -- love zone and they are you know then that's one of the things they're going through right now and I had a big book sellers' convention down in New York couple weeks ago and that's one of the things. They're trying to figure out the economic summit obviously concerned that some of the thirty boxes on and the last laugh but they don't have to cut down -- those -- in print all the whoever was present -- symbolic trying to visit kind of a peek at the future so you've got three choices no at least you've got the Amazon Kindle. They've got the -- easy reading you got the Sony. Read what you're winning -- 100 million bucks what are you doing you to flip the page you just want to -- you guys that I button and the good thing -- they have a button on either side so if -- unless you can use the one on the left and insist that the analyst Larry Miller anymore you don't think you know. The content of your life."
" If you if you download of a big book does the thing get heavier."
" Why are you as soon hit the technology -- element I'm all right it was reckless investors -- snow -- Now you can hundreds of books in the cowboys must get -- that. Travel a lot yeah if you going on vacation and you want to bring a dozen books and you don't want to carry you know. In my life this is brilliant and obviously I hope that it's -- it's only going to work if it's for new book -- don't even touch system you'll never be able to figure out how to downloadable hurt yourself and you'll break a rare easy you -- with the Kindle you can do all right you don't know what you're dealing with -- yeah downloadable. In the flash really -- America."
" Minutes again we used to downloading music and movies or videos that take a long time books just the printed page -- now. " Only issue no no no there's I don't know reaction times and I don't know do stuff. Ever you know would you ager cognitive view cognition decreases of everybody and you know a lot of forty year old should be behind the wheel. I don't want to thirty years total solution I'm really also is is it's an issue of just anybody who are you fit to drive the elderly is a low numbers and this is discrimination no -- discrimination is a fact of life that you're -- reruns and they go when plus you know we you have this issue as we get older -- our parent has. Absolutely everybody has an opinion on message and how to take and they all want to give up the right now. It's just dumb there you know being able to get around you know it's what it does to them. Emotionally emotionally insecure it's -- it's very free edition that was one of the most. Difficult things I've ever had to do when I took my mom's car away from -- she was only 43 of the time. You like they're caught like their car I got. I'm a hurdle though when telling incidents that some talks -- she was saying homer mother. That she knew it was time to take it of the car with her mother. Up because a mother would sit in the car. Even though it wasn't running pushes it in the car go back and the host and the daughters meantime we're not -- groceries for her if she can remove groceries and put them away and and and should see him.
